The Primary Care Surge Response Service offers same day GP appointments for patients with an urgent primary care need. This is to alleviate winter pressures in practices and avoid patients having to attend A&E settings.

Who can book in to the service? 

You can be booked into this service via your Hillingdon GP Practice, NHS 111 or through The Hillingdon Hospitals Foundation Trust Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC).

Unregistered Patients or patients registered with non-member Practices of The Confederation (Church Road Surgery/West London Medical Centre)

Patients above the age of 2 years old

Walk-in Patients

Chest Infection

COVID Patients for face to face


Under 2 year olds

Migraine/ Headaches


Exacerbation of Asthma

Acute Sepsis

Exacerbation of COPD

Acute Chest Pain

Medication queries which need same day attention

Acute Breathlessness

High Blood Pressure needing same day attention

Acute Abdominal Pain with Vomiting

Urinary infection without systemic sepsis

Suspected Spinal Cord Compression

Mild to Moderate mental health issues

Suspected Stroke

Skin Rash

Suspected Meningitis



Joint Pain which need same day attention

Severe and Complex Mental Health Illness

Low level Mental Health Illness. Suicidal ideas but not plan

Acute Suicidal Risk With Plans

Back Pain which need same day attention

Suicidal Intentions

Neck Pain which need same day attention

Acutely unwell patients

Musculoskeletal Chest Pain

Any other condition where patient not acutely unwell but needing same day assessment

Where and when are the clinics being held?

This service is currently running Monday to Friday between 10am and 8pm. The location is Mead House, Mead House Lane, Hayes, UB4 8EW.
