Role Description | Undertake all the duties associated with the role of a General Practitioner required by the GMS/PMS contract. This will include, but is not limited to, surgery and telephone consultations, home visits, check and sign repeat prescription requests, check, manage and process patient test results, Refer patients to secondary/urgent care and additional interventions as appropriate, administration. Comply with all the objectives of the GMS/PMS Contract Support and contribute to the development of Practice clinical procedures and protocols Accurate and timely input of patient data onto the clinical system Carrying out clinical audit as appropriate Completion of reports for solicitors, insurance companies and others Liaise with other health care professionals when required Act in a way that protects the confidentiality of patients and maintains the integrity of the patient / Practice relationship Attend and contribute (active role) to in-house meetings, including clinical, educational/training-related and administrative meetings Manage long-term conditions and patients with complex problems Support the development and compliance of the Practice Health and Safety policy Take on ‘Lead’ responsibilities in any agreed area of clinical management Participate in the GP appraisal scheme Attend Practice training sessions whenever possible Maintain medical currency in line with your Personal Development Plan Contribute to the development and improvement of the Practice Provide services to the practice’s patient population to the highest possible standard, in line with competencies and professional code of conduct Work safely at all times in accordance with Legislative requirements and Practice Policy and Procedures. Contribute to providing a supportive environment for other staff through informal catch-ups and contact Prioritise own workload and collaborate effectively with others to prioritise team and practice workload |
