On 13th November, we hosted our first 'all staff' event to discuss the rapid expansion of the team, how we have progressed in recent months and how we can improve further in the future. We had a real mix of staff including managment and corporate, the executive board, the workforce team, our clinical pharmacists, care home support team GPs and Matrons and Social Prescribing Link workers.

In August, Hillingdon Health and Care Partners (HHCP) Care Connection Teams (CCTs) were shortlisted for three categories for the HSJ Awards – the industry’s showcase of excellent practice. HHCP is made up of Hillingdon CCG, Hillingdon Hospital NHSFT, Central and North West London NHSFT, H4All and The Confederation, Hillingdon CIC.

The categories are –

  • System Leadership Initiative of the Year
  • Primary Care Innovation of the Year -
  • Community or Primary Care Service Redesign

A selection from the CCT teams attended the event on 6th November at Evolution, London in Battersea. Although the team didn’t win on the night, we would like to congratulate them on the incredible achievement being nominated and for their continued support and care they provide to Hillingdon patients. The level of care and support they provide to patients and their extended families is truly inspiring and they will always be winners to us!

The Confederation is officially a Community Interest Company

We are pleased to let you know that the Confederation has been accepted by the Regulator of Community Interest Companies (CIC) as a CIC. This changes the Confederation's formal name from Hillingdon Primary Care Confederation Ltd to 'The Confederation, Hillingdon CIC'. Informally for ease, and as a brand, we continue to be called 'The Confederation'.

The decision to apply to be a CIC was made following a unanimous decision of the Confederation Members at this year's Annual General Meeting. Becoming a CIC does not change the limited liability of our Members, and those Members stay the same. However this change does clearly articulate our purpose, which is to act in the best interests of our community in delivering better health in Hillingdon through collaborative community care.
